The Van Wyk twins officially made their debut on November 6 at 6:02 and 6:10 p.m.! We are so thankful to God for these beautiful blessings! Peter James came first at 6 lbs 7 oz and 18 inches long (MUCH bigger than predicted :) ), and Joy Cornelia came just one push later at 5 lbs even, 17 inches. The weight difference was surprising, since they had predicted all along that they were only 1-2 oz. apart. The names are all family names: Peter for Steve's and my grandfathers, James for my father, and Cornelia for Steve's dad and my great grandmother, and we liked the name Joy because we were'nt expecting TWO babies, but she was just an extra bundle of joy! Babies and mom are both healthy, and that's all we care about. If you'd like to visit, just call first :). Here are some pictures of our bundles of joy (literally!).

ReplyDeleteThis is so great. I wish I could hear your whole labor story - but it all sounds like it went just perfect perfect - what a wonderful ending to such a long journey! I wish I could come visit you and your beautiful babies in the hospital in person - they are so beautiful and you are looking amazing!! These next couple of days will be some of the best of your life - just staring at your beautiful babies and falling head over heals in love with them. As you already know at this point, you are forever changed once you see those sweet spirits. Becoming a mother is such a beautiful thing. My heart is just singing for your family right now. God is so good... :)

ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so happy for you! So great that you were able to have both without a c-section! So happy for you and Steve and your adorable bundles of JOY!
ReplyDeleteHooray! They have arrived! I hope everything went well for you. It is hard to believe it has been almost a year for us...my advice...accept as much help as possible! We had one of our parents spend the night twice a week. It is truly what allowed me to get thru the long nights...knowing that Wednesday and Friday nights were just getting up to pump. If you have family that is willing....take it!! I wish you all the best and feel free to call if you ever want to compare twinner stories :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your beautiful bundles of joy! I'm so glad to hear that everything went well!
